7 Times Humans Went Above And Beyond The Call Of Duty For Their Pups

I pride myself on being a “crazy dog person.” This is a judge-free zone, and we embrace the ability to do insane things for our pups and not have others think twice. That being said, not many of us have the time, the cash, or the backyards, quite frankly, to do what these crazy pup lovers have done for their dogs.

May you look in awe and glean some inspiration from these 7 crazy creations for the four-legged family member.

1. The ultimate monster bed, perfect for snuggling.

When you have 2 dogs and 5 cats that can’t get enough of your love (especially when it comes time to snooze), the only logical answer is to craft a master bed for the masters of the house. The furry ones, that is.

2. A $2,300 stairlift for legs not made for stairs.

Sheila and Harry Lee of West Yorkshire, England spent no less than $7,600 on their Doxie’s spinal surgery, and they’ll be damned if Pippa or their other Weenies get more injuries as a result of climbing the stairs. Enter the mechanical lift, which the Lees trained the dogs to use by offering treats after every successful trip.

3. A beautiful hand-crafted dog house with a log cabin feel.

What likely took weeks to months to create resulted in a doggy hideaway both rustic and modern. That’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears for our furry mongrels, but now they can enjoy the camping experience in style and comfort.

4. The Ikea Hundstol dog highchair, because why not?

Just kidding, though it took me longer than it should have to realize this was an April Fool’s joke. I mean, they made it so convincing.

5. Custom dog’s-eye views from your own backyard.

Hey, the dogs want to say hello to the neighbors, too. Maybe a little too much.

6. Floating dock ramps for the swimmers with a summer home.

An alleged crazy dog person, this human knows she treats her two labs with the same respect she would give her children. And for a couple of part-Retrievers, part-fish, these dogs definitely deserve a ramp to make water fetch a piece of cake.

7. Recycled tire agility course.

The Humane Society of West Michigan built this bright blue tire playground for their overly energetic residents. Some of the dogs become stressed in a kennel environment, so frequent trips to the agility wonderland provide a much-needed outlet to let them run off some steam.
