A while ago, there was a list going around of questions people should ask in order to fall in love with someone. I can’t tell you if it works, but I do know they missed one very important question: What is your favorite dog breed?

You can tell a lot about a person by what dog breed is their favorite. First of all, they’re a dog person, so they get cool points right from the start. But knowing whether someone prefers Huskies or Labs can tell you a lot about them as a person.

So. What’s your favorite dog breed?

Labrador Retriever:

You know what you like and you’re cool with not having to test boundaries. You’re outgoing, but you don’t really need to be, because people tend to like you by default and gravitate toward you in social situations.

German Shepherd:

You appreciate knowing what people expect of you and you have no problem with authority, but you’re not a pushover. You like the simple things in life, and prefer intimate gatherings with friends over large crowds.

Chinese Crested:

You like challenging people’s perceptions, and you’re often successful at starting discussions on tough subjects. You like making an impact anywhere you go, which either draws people to you or pushes them away. You’re not afraid to be different.

English Bulldog:

You’re the calm one in your circle of friends, and some might even accuse you of having permanent DILLIGAF face. But that’s fine. Haters gon’ hate, right? Your chill demeanor comes in handy when you’re uncomfortable, because no one can tell.

Chihuahua:

You love being the center of attention when you walk into a room. You’re resilient and you know how to throw a mean side-eye if you feel like someone deserves it.

Rottweiler:

People either love you or don’t, but that doesn’t matter to you. You have a soft side you show only to those you trust, and once you consider someone a friend, it’s for life.

French Bulldog:

You’re a city person at heart, and you know it. You can fit in anywhere, and have a natural affinity for the cosmopolitan. You have a way of making people feel loved with the smallest gestures.

Dachshund:

Your favorite memories are centered around food. Your emotions are regulated by food, and the pursuit of food. A gathering is not complete unless there is something to munch on, and you’re not ashamed of it. Your perfect day consists of being a lazy couch burrito while eating burritos. And Dog forbid someone judge you for it.

Mixed Breed:

You’re approachable and down-to-earth. You pick a side and stick to it, even though you can see and understand both sides. This makes you a great person to come to for advice.

Boxer:

You’re hilarious, and others know it. Your weird sense of humor is probably why people like being around you, even if you think you’re a little awkward sometimes. Embrace it.

Poodle:

You’re intelligent, and you’re quietly proud of it. You have an appreciation for the classic, and if that makes you a snob, so be it. You secretly know others admire you.

Yorkshire Terrier:

Some might accuse you of being high-maintenance, but what do they know? You just don’t have time to deal with basics. Who does anymore? You’re not afraid to share your opinion on controversial topics, and people tend to listen, even if they don’t tell you they do.

Pit Bull:

You’re opinionated, and it might turn some people off when they first meet you. But those who know you can expect honesty and loyalty. You’re fine spending time alone, but can be the life of the party if you feel like it. You have a big heart because you know what it’s like to be the underdog.

Husky:

You’re very vocal. Some might call it whining, but hey — as long as you get what you want, right? You’re not too worried about keeping things tidy, because life shouldn’t only be about making beds and unloading the dishwasher.

Mastiff:

You don’t need to do much talking to get people on your side. Those watching you from afar admire your quiet confidence although they might not tell you they do, and those close to you know you’re a big ol’ softy. You love big gestures, but you don’t wait around to be thanked for them. You just enjoy seeing the people you love being happy, and you’d do anything to keep smiles on their faces.

Shiba Inu:

You invented Resting Bitch Face, or RBF. Sometimes you get called out for seeming too judgmental of others, but it’s not your fault that you’re just really good at side eye. At this point, it’s not even worth trying to fight it. Your true friends know you’re actually a sweet person who cares about others.

Shih Tzu:

There are few things you dislike more than dishonest people. You like things to be out in the open, and appreciate it when people keep it real, even when it’s about something you don’t really want to hear.

Australian Shepherd:

A day is not over until everything on your to-do list has been taken care of. You value quality over quantity, so it might take you a little longer to finish something, but you know the end result is polished.

Beagle:

Thank Dog for the Internet, because you’re a curious person who needs to know everything. Meet a new person? GOOGLED. You’re a pro at finding things out, which also means people come to you for information. And it’s a nice feeling — being wanted.

Pomeranian:

Personality is everything, and you have a big one. You’d never admit this to anyone, but you’ve always had dreams of being a star. That ship may have sailed, but you still find ways to shine in your everyday. Even going to the supermarket can be an event if you have the right attitude about it. 😉

Pug:

First things first—you da realest. Laughter is your main motivation in life, right after snoozing on the couch with your favorite burrito. You are fluent in sarcasm, and you don’t tone it down when meeting someone new. People should accept you for who you are, and if they don’t, there’s the door.

Great Dane:

You’re brave and not afraid of loving hard. You keep yourself busy, but you know how to take a break every once in a while to unwind. You know how to make your days off count, which makes you a dependable person when work needs to get done.

Jack Russell Terrier:

You’re one of those people who always has a lot going on, and it can be a little overwhelming. Sometimes you look back and don’t even know how you handled it all, but the important part is that you did. You handled it. And no one can take that from you.

Spaniel:

The world is a tough place, but you’re a tougher cookie. Yes, you can be sweet, but woe be to those who think they can take advantage of your politeness. Still, you won’t let bad experiences turn you into a bitter person, so huge props to you. You’ve got this. 🙂

Schnauzer:

You pride yourself on your ability to adapt to situations and people. When a problem comes up, you tend to think deeply about it before reaching out to others for help, but you’re always open to different perspectives. You have an appreciation for all things goofy, although most people don’t know this about you.
