More than 500 tube-shaped pooches and their pawrents traveled from near and far to take place in the event on Coney Beach.
Some of the dogs were decked out in Christmas finery, and others looked natty in winter coats and accessories.
One of the organizers, Charlotte Baldwin, commented that Facebook played a major role in the success of the event.
"I'm amazed by how many came. It just went haywire when we put it on Facebook."
Baldwin has organized three previous Dachshund events, but they were not posted on Facebook and only about 20 dogs turned out for each.
The Porthcawl Sausage Dog Walk, however, may very well be the largest Doxie gathering Wales has ever seen!
Baldwin and her co-organizers have already begun planning another Doxie event for Summer 2016!
