In one of the most bizarre stories ever, Black Labrador Adam suffers from an allergy to humankind.
We’re not joking.
When Indianapolis based Lucky Dog Rescue came upon Adam, they saw a sick pup in need. So head of the rescue Robin Herman had no qualms in taking him in. However, after various bath treatments and diet changes didn’t seem to be drastically improving his condition, they took him to the vet to try to figure out what was wrong. Once the vet ran tests, they found out the brain boggling cause to Adam’s ills: hoomans.
Like people can be allergic to cat and dog dander, similarly dogs can have allergies to the dander to hoomans. The rescue is working with the vet to develop allergy shots for Adam so he can soon be itch free when he’s around those who ruv to give him belly rubs.
“He’s smart, he learns, knows a bunch of commands, he’s a great dog,” Herman told RTV6. It’s not his fault. We raised as much money as we can and we’re not going to stop until he’s better.”
We hope they can develop the right treatment quickly, so this sweet pup can get his furever home soon!
