An incredibly lucky Basset Hound survived a 30 foot fall onto concrete thanks to the breed’s famously, flappy, floppy ears!
Suzi Lane and Richard Bradley’s dog, Remy, was in the attic of their three story home, when he spotted a cat on the street below.
Not about to let that cat happen, Remy did what any feline-obsessed dog would do and hurled himself out the window.

Okay, maybe not all dogs would jump out a window to get to a cat, but I’m assuming this cat made some very crude remarks (as cats are wont to do) about Remy’s mama. The hound simply wouldn’t stand for it.
Lane and Bradley, who had only adopted Remy 8 weeks prior, assumed their new puppy must be suffering massive internal injuries, rushed him to emergency care. Rebarkably, after a thorough examination and a few X-rays, Remy’s vet’s concluded the aerodynamic pup was just fine. It was probably Remy’s impressive ears’ wingspan that cushioned his fall.
A lot of people are comparing Remy to the lovable Disney character Dumbo, who used his oversized ears to fly through the air.
That’s all well and good, but perhaps another movie comparison is equally appupriate… Perhaps something besides ears-span is afoot apaw…
Perhaps Remy is actually an indestructible, canine-oid robot…
Either way, we sure are happy you’re okay, Remy! And next time you see a cat, try not to kill yourself.
