An eleven-week old Bull Terrier, Matilda, is one very special puppy, but if you were to watch her play you wouldn’t know it.

A representative from the Happy Endings Rescue described Matilda as “a normal, lively puppy—running around jumping and playing. She loves being cuddled and held, she’s utterly adorable.”

But a very unique factor distinguishes Matilda from other puppies. Matilda was born a hermaphrodite.

Born with multiple sets of sex organs, both male and female, Matilda (though nearly “Matt” before a corrective operation) also came into the world with an inhibitive, deformed leg.

Given the under-developed nature of some of the sex organs and the deformity of the leg, the operation was performed in the interest of Matilda’s health, leaving her with one less leg and anatomically female.

The complex procedures have proved quite costly and the Happy Endings Rescue welcomes any donations towards Matilda’s treatment. Please click here if you are interested in contributing to the care of pawecious little Matilda.
