Oh, hi. My name is Rose and I was rescued from a kill shelter by a great rescue in Brooklyn. I’m now safe, hanging with my new foster mom. I even come in to the BarkBox office and help test out doggie snacks and toys every once in a while! The humans at BarkBox want to help more dogs like me and they think you have an idea that could change a lot of lives! Will you accept the challenge?
Do you have a rescue dog like me? If so, make sure you let the organization you rescued from knows about this cool opportunity!
Here’s how this works! We’re on the hunt for innovative ideas to reduce overpopulation, provide shelter or care for dogs in need, and we know you have them. Have an idea you’ve always wanted the money and support to implement? Head over to our The Hugo Challenge and find out how to win $10,000 to fund, support, and document your game-changing project.
Since your here, check out some of these cool pet-savin’ projects we found to inspire you!
Adopt NY’s Undercover Dog House Campaign promoted awareness of homeless animals in NYC.
Neuter Scooter, A mobile surgery bus that provides low-cost spay and neutering.
Pilots N Paws “Dog Is My Copilot” Rescue Flyway, helped relocate 300+ dogs to shelters and new homes in one morning!
Other ideas we’ve come up with:
- An app that matches you with nearby dogs in need
- ‘Lost Dog’ poster generator
- A program that matches up knitters with rescues that need dog sweaters
- A viral puppymill awareness campaign
We know rescues and shelters need not only funds, but manpower, so if you have an idea and want to help implement it – reach out to a local rescue and partner up!
Submissions need to be in by November 23rd, so get cracking!
