Adoptable Dog Wants To Dance Her Way Into Your Heart And A Forever Home

Adoptable Dog Wants To Dance Her Way Into Your Heart And A Forever Home

**Update!**

Ginger Rogers will be “raising the roof under her new roof,” as Orange County Animal Services so beautifully put it, because she’s found a home!

Some lucky family is going to host the absolute BEST parties with an in-house dance partner to woo anyone who forgets to bring their own. Congratulations Miss Rogers! We’ll be the first to buy tickets to your next show.

**Original Story**

The legendary actress and entertainer Ginger Rogers once said that rhythm is born in all of us. I wonder if she ever considered that dogs have rhythm, too?

Ginger has a namesake at Orange County Animal Services in Orlando, Florida, and this one can do some fancy footwork, as well. This fuzzy-faced one year old ingénue does not appear to be mopey or scared inside the shelter. Instead, Ginger Rogers is dancing in her kennel. The shelter posted a video showcasing the pup’s dance moves on Facebook.

Ginger Rogers is looking for a new dance partner!

As you can see, Ginger has some impressive furry footwork. She starts dancing any time someone walks past her kennel.

Why is a dog this special still at the shelter?

Unfortunately, Ginger is heartworm positive. The mosquito-borne disease is treatable if caught in time, and not terribly expensive. But that can sometimes stop people from taking an HW+ dog home.

That’s why OCAS is waiving Ginger Rogers’ adoption fee.

Here’s what it says on the Orange County Animal Services website:

Shelter dogs who have heartworm disease have a much more difficult time finding a home because of the cost associated with treatment. By waiving the adoption for these dogs, Animal Services hopes to alleviate the cost of the medical treatment to the new adopting family. Speak to a veterinarian to learn more about treatment options and costs.

Do you know someone who would be willing to be Ginger’s forever dance partner?

Orange County Animals Services in Orlando, Florida is open seven days a week. Learn more about Ginger Rogers and other adoptable dogs on the OCAS website.
