Earlier this month, employees of Waggin’ Tails Pet Resort in Jacksboro, Minnesota heard a child crying outside of their building. They followed the cries to an overgrown hog pen. Inside the pen was a toddler and a female Pit Bull.
The hoomans of Waggin’ Tails said that it was clear the Pit, named Dixie was watching over the 23 month old toddler. She even followed them as they took the little boy to safety.
Police say that the child’s mother abandoned both the dog and her son while she was high on meth. The woman, Virginia Cora-Lee Seal, was dog-sitting the pup for her neighbor.
The little boy is safe and with child protective services, Dixie, however, is missing. At some point, rescuers lost sight of the pup and no one knows where she is. Her owner, Charles Pittman, is desperate to find her. He does not have a photo of his Pittie, but a human at Waggin’ Tails has a pup who looks similar. That dog is pictured above.
