Rowlett was one of many towns ravaged by a string of powerful tornadoes that tore through northern Texas this past Saturday.
And Michael Delgado and his family were among many people hoping to recover pets that went missing during the storm.
Sawyer, a yellow Lab, and Lucy, a Chihuahua.
Beneath the rubble that was once their home, Michael and his family searched in vain on Sunday for their missing family members.

Undeterred, they returned on Monday with family and friends. Incredibly, they were able to hear barks from the debris below, and Sawyer was pulled to safety.
Sawyer is reportedly eating, drinking and doing well!
With one prayer answered, the group continued searching for little Lucy. After several more hours, Sawyer’s sibling, Lucy, was also rescued from the rubble. (You can watch the full video of her remarkable rescue here!)
Lucy is in good spirits and recovering nicely at the veterinarian.
Incredibly, neither dog sustained serious injuries, despite being trapped for two days. Both are expected to be A-OK! You can help Sawyer, Lucy, and other four-legged tornado victims by visiting their GoFundMe page.
Lucy, Michael, and a very happy ending.
We are keeping our paws crossed as these amazing animals continue to recover!
