They Put A Dog Inside His Jail Cell And His Whole Life Turned Around

Some may be skeptical about allowing prison inmates to raise service dogs, but the results often speak for themselves. Warden Jim McKinney of the Fort Dodge Corrections Facility apparently had his doubts, and even he had to admit that the program gave both the dogs and the inmates a great opportunity.

We had all these mammoth dudes that were lifting weights, grunting, and everything was tough about them. And all of a sudden one little puppy came walking up… and the next thing I know in that little girl voice I hear ‘Oh look! A puppy!’ And they were all excited and petting the puppy and I knew right then I wouldn’t have a problem.
