When a tornado tore through Fairdale, IL on Apr. 9, 2015, the lives of many town residents changed forever.
One man in particular was especially aggrieved. Clem Schultz lost his wife Geraldine, his home, and his wife’s dog Missy, a white german Shepherd.
Fortunately for Clem, one of the above was returned to him.
On Apr. 11, Missy was spotted two and half miles away from the ruins of the Schultz home by a ComEd crew.
Still traumatized by the tornado, Missy fled from initial attempts at rescue. Clem’s grandson Tyler was eventually able to bring Missy back to safety, reuniting the pup with the man who had tragically lost too much of his family already in the devastating storm.
