According to the Hillsborough County Animal Services Facebook page Larry Bird has FINALLY found his pup-mate!
This Pit Bull isn’t playing peek-a-boo. He’s just looking for someone to show him genuine love.
Larry Bird is a 2-year-old Pittie mix, who was found by Animal Services at a basketball court in Tampa, Florida. Larry’s history isn’t known but according to the rescuers his behavior suggests that he’s probably had a rough past.
John Ferdon, from Hillsborough County Animal Services, spoke to The Dodo:
“When he first got here, he was very scared and very shy, but he’s learning to trust again. It’s a scary environment. That’s why we try to get them worked up for adoption as quickly as possible and get them into a permanent home.”
Larry’s photo is making the rounds on the Internet but according to Ferdon, no one has come forward to adopt this gently, friendly Pittie.
Ferdon said, “We still have him available for adoption. Man, I thought he’d be gone by now. He’s really opened up. He’s really friendly. All it would take is $20 for the adoption fee.”
We can’t imagine what this sweet tail-wagger has gone through in his past, we just hope he finds his furever home!
