Police Dog Basks In His Own Awesomeness After Taking Down Two Suspects

Vinnie just can’t keep the grin off his face. The police dog from the Lancashire Police Dog Unit is the new hero of the week after taking down two suspects before they were arrested last Friday. And judging from his picture, he knows it. Vinnie is basking in the glory of his triumph.

Early Friday morning, police attempted to stop a van in the Accrington area of northwest England. They chased the van until the two suspects ditched the car and ran across some farmland.

That’s where Vinnie stepped in. He chased the men down and detained one of them before finding the other one hiding in the woods 600 meters away. Police later took the men into custody.

And it was all thanks to Vinnie. No wonder he looks so proud! Now Vinnie’s being praised by thousands of fans online.

This isn’t first time Vinnie’s done good work for the Lancashire Police Dog Unit. On June 2, one of the team’s human members posted about how Vinnie managed to find 3,000 pounds worth of stolen power tools in the Pendle area. That’s not even the impressive part – the pup found the stolen goods in under TWO minutes!

Back in March, Vinnie helped track down a man over fences and through gardens. The suspect had broken into a nursery in the Burnley area with a crowbar and stole over 90 pounds in cash.

And those are just some of Vinnie’s most recent busts. Other members of his unit call the 7-year-old Malinois a “powerful hard hitting ‘silent assassin.'”

But while Vinnie’s tough on the job he’s “a big softy at home.” He loves walking around the reservoir, working with his handler, and chasing his BFF and fellow police dog Danny.

If that’s not a hero, we don’t know what is!
