In a bizarre turn of events, this adorable puppy was left at the scene of a hit-and-run car accident on Interstate 275 near St. Petersburg, Florida last Monday.
The driver of a 1999 silver Honda Accord, described only as a white male with curly hair, rear-ended a Dodge minivan while driving in the northbound lane. He got out to check on the people in the van but then took off — leaving a tiny puppy behind!
Luckily law enforcement arrived not long after. State Trooper Robert Ray scooped up the little bundle — now nicknamed Crash — and took him home for the night. Crash seems to be in good health and is staying with a local family for at least thirty days in case the owner steps forward to claim him.
The driver of the Accord also abandoned the car on the side of the highway later that night, Police are still looking for him. Anyone with any information regarding the crash — or Crash — should contact Florida Highway Patrol at 813-631-4020.
