You might not think a real estate broker would care about finding homes for shelter dogs, but the two companies have created the Home For Dogs Project, a campaign dedicated to finding homes for 20,000 adoptable dogs… and it all started with a commercial.
In February, Coldwell released a wagnificent ad called “Home’s Best Friend” – it’s simple, sweet, and will put a smile on your face, I pawmise.
Coldwell Banker has been in the business of finding homes for their clients for over 100 years, but after learning that most of the dogs in the “Home’s Best Friend” commercial were shelter dogs, they realized humans aren’t the only ones in need of a good home.
I recently spoke with Coldwell Banker’s chief marketing officer, Sean Blankenship, and the company is almost as dog-crazed as we are! They even have a website just for dogs!
Blankenship believes that, “Pets go hand in hand with loving our home.” Blankenship went on to gush about his own adorable rescue pup, Chewbacca. Obviously, pictures had to be exchanged before the interview could continue…
Blankenship also told me that more than 10,000 dogs have already found loving homes through the project, and that number should soon rise in the next few days. August 1st and 2nd is The Homes for Dogs National Adoption Weekend, with over 650 shelters pawticipating across the country.
They say, “Home is where the heart is,” but Coldwell Banker might be updating the old adage by proving that, “home is where the hound is.”
