Jazz and Carrie both had a rough start to the year. After being pulled out of Detroit Animal Control and undergoing critical care treatment respectively, they were both brought to Detroit Dog Rescue where they first met and became inseparable. Now the shelter is waiving their adoption fees for a forever family willing to take them both.
On April 28, Detroit Dog Rescue, the first no-kill animal shelter in Detroit, noted on their Facebook Page that, should Jazz and Carrie get adopted together, they would lower their total adoption fees to $250. Now, WXYZ has reported that the shelter has offered to waive the fees altogether.
While they aren’t required to leave together, the shelter (and us!) would love to see Jazz and Carrie find their happily ever after. Detroit Dog Rescue’s director, Kristina Rinaldi, told WXYZ:
They are always together, they go lay in the yard together… we have their kennels next to each other, so they can see each other when they go to bed at night.
Carrie is a one-year-old Pit Bull/Boston Terrier mix weighing in at just around 30 lbs and, though she came into the shelter pregnant, she is now spayed and up to date on her shots. Jazz is a two-year-old Pit Bull who is neutered and also fully vaccinated and together they are a match made in heaven!
