A devastating wildfire destroyed Connie Thurston’s home on June 10. The family had no warning that the fire was so dangerously close. They had mere moments to escape with their two year old granddaughter and 5 dogs.
Sadly, their sixth pup, Cinnamon, ran away to escape the oncoming blaze.
Fearing the worst but not losing hope, Connie returned to the rubble of her home with a local news crew the following day. Cameramen spotted the pup early Thursday. Later that afternoon, with the cameras rolling, Connie began calling for Cinnamon. Relieved to hear her mama’s voice, the missing dog rushed into Connie’s arms.
