Earlier this year, the popular raw dog food company Stella and Chewy’s recalled some of its products due to Salmonella contamination. The company is having to do the same thing again, but this time it’s for potential Listeria contamination.
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development detected Listeria in the company’s 8.5 oz. frozen bags of Super Beef Dinner Morsels for Dogs. These have lot number of 165-15 and use by date of 6-25-2016.
In response to these findings, Stella and Chewy’s is voluntarily recalling two dog food products from this lot:
Frozen Stella’s Super Beef Dinner Morsels for Dogs 8.5 oz.
UPC 186011 001554
Lot # 165-15
Use by date: 6/25/2016
Frozen Stella’s Super Beef Dinner Morsels for Dogs 4 lb.
UPC 186011 001370
Lot # 165-15
Use by date: 6/25/2016 & 6/26/2016
Listeria can cause vomiting and bloody diarrhea in pets. If you are concerned about whether or not your pup has become ill due to eating these products, please contact your veterinarian.
Stella and Chewy’s encourages consumers to dispose of these products or return them to their place of purchase for a refund.
