A sweet little puppy from Thailand slipped away from his mother and tumbled down a drainage hole. Locals noticed the distressed mama dog and also heard the pup’s cries for help. They contacted police officers.

At first, rescuers tried to get the puppy to crawl out on his own by putting sticks down the drainage hole to lure him toward the entrance. That didn’t work.

The puppy’s mother looked on as rescuers tried to reunite her with her baby. Seeing her desperation, one police officer decided that the only way to save the puppy was to go into the sewer himself. Watch the daring rescue in the video above.
