It’s no secret that we’re in love with Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson. After all, it’s hard not to love a guy who’s so head over paws in love with pups, right?

Welp, we just fell more in ruv because the Rock donated $1,500 to save ‘the Rock.’ No, he didn’t donate money to save himself. The second Dwayne Johnson is a dog who was left at shelter with a metal wire wrapped around his mouth. The wire was so thick that shelter workers had to remove it with bolt cutters.

After 17 stitches, it was obvious that this pup is a serious fighter. So, the shelter named him after the real life superhero.

Dwayne the dog is going to need all of that fight to overcome a more serious issue than those stitches – he has a grade 5 heart murmur. A grade 6 is the most severe heart murmur. At grade 5, furry Dwayne can’t be exposed to a lot of stress, get too much exercise or be left alone. According to his GoFundMe, even the stress of being in a kennel can cause him to have a heart attack.

Saving SPOT! Rescue started the dog’s GoFundMe page to pay for any medical care he needs to treat his heart murmur. The page’s goal was $5,000. The fundraiser got a big boost when star and pup ruver Michelle Trachtenberg tweeted about the sick dog.

She tagged the Rock (the human one) in her tweet, prompting him to donate $1,500 to the Rock’s (the canine one) medical care! The rescue says:

Knowing that the Rock has got Dwayne the puppy’s back, we are confident he will be a fighter and make it through this.

So far, the fundraiser has over $5,800 donations. The rescue says that it will donate any extra funds to the more than 60 dogs at Saving SPOT! Rescue.

We’re confident that Dwayne the Rock Johnson (the dog version) will live a long life and we’re so happy that the world has amazing real-life heroes like Dwayne the Rock Johnson (the human version).
