Will “The Champ” Millender has made a delicious and lucrative career out of competitive eating.
When Millender heard BarkFest was having a hot dog eating contest (for dogs, of course) he knew it was the pawfect opportunity to turn competitive eating into a family affair. “The Champ” signed up his two year old, Rhodesian Ridgeback-Doberman mix, PBNJ, for the competition.
On the day of the big event the sun, the hot dogs, and the competition was sizzling! The contest was a speed competition, challenging the canine competitors to eat ONE hot dog as fast as pawsible.
So, did PBNJ have the chomping chops to take home the Gold (a.k.a. a BarkShop gift certificate) and bring more gorging glory to his household!?!
No.
….noohoohoooo.Frankfurterly, PBNJ didn’t come close. Swallowing not even one bite, PBNJ came in dead last.
Maybe the irony of eating a hot dog on such a hot day was too much for PBNJ. Maybe she’s more of a burger girl. Or maybe it was a classic case of the yips!
Not to worry, PBNJ! What matters is you tried your best, you licked a hotdog, and you looked darn cute!
And from the looks of it, your Poppa’s proud of you no matter what!
