Celebrities – they’re just like us! They get caught wearing sweatpants to the grocery store…they scarf down fast food burgers…they’re obsessed with their dogs!
Ever worry that your obsession with your dog has reached Code Red Crazy Dog Lady Status? Now you can rest easy, we’ve assembled a list of celebrity dog moms who embody grace and beauty, all while being covered in dog hair and carrying poo bags.
15. Emma Stone
As if it wasn’t enough to be gorgeous, talented, funny, and the object of Spiderman’s affections – Emma Stone can add lovable dog mom to her list of endearing qualities. Emma and Andrew Garfield are the proud parents of a Golden Retriever mix who was rescued from a high-kill L.A. county shelter. Who says women can’t have it all?
14. Jessica Biel
While many Hollywood dog moms may go for the lap dogs, Jessica Biel’s best friend is her 55 pound
“blanket” Tina. The two are so close that Jessica’s Instagram
is now home to an ongoing photo series aptly titled #tuesdayswithtina. A devoted dog lover, Jessica is also step-mom to husband Justin Timberlake’s three pups Buckley, Brennan and Billy.
13. Kristen Bell
It’s hard to top Kristen Bell when talking crazy dog moms. According to the actress, “I kept saying to him [husband Dax Shepherd] in all sincerity during my pregnancy, ‘I just don’t know how I’m going to like her as much as I like the dogs.’ I was being serious because I f—ing love my dogs; they are my children.” Don’t worry Kristen, we think it’s totally normal! Luckily for the couple’s daughter, there is plenty of love to go around.
12. Rachel Bilson
This dog mom loves her rescue pups so much that she talks to them on the phone when she’s traveling. (Can’t pretend we haven’t all done that before!) Her fur kids include “grumpy old man” Thurman Murman and enormous Old English Sheepdog mix Lambert.
11. Sandra Bullock
She didn’t get the title “America’s Sweetheart” for nothing. Compassionate animal lover Sandra Bullock is mom to three special needs chihuahuas including Ruby, who was born with only 2 legs and walks on her hind legs, Poppy, who lost a leg in an accident and ended up at an L.A. shelter, and one-eyed Bebe, who was adopted from a rescue group in Long Beach, CA. Knowing that special needs and disabled dogs are the hardest to place and often candidates for euthanasia in shelters, Sandra has stated that “Any dog that is missing something is welcome in our house.” We ruvvvv you Sandra!
10. Olivia Wilde
Olivia once joked that her 9 year old rescue pup Paco is the only boyfriend she needs. Looks like she changed her mind (luckily for Jason Sudekis) but we’re willing to bet Paco will always be top dog!
9. Kate Middleton
In March, the royal family released the photo that launched ten million “awwwww”s. Yeah yeah, William is handsome and George is adorable, but let’s talk about Kate and the family pup Lupo! Lupo is the original royal baby, keeping mama Kate company on shopping trips and visits to school children. There’s no love like that of a mother for her (fur)kids.
8. Jessica Chastain
The stunning starlet is never without her loyal companion Chaplin. In fact, even when the two are apart, Chaplin has other ideas in mind. During Jessica’s Broadway performance in The Heiress
, someone accidentally let Chaplin out of her dressing room and the three-legged pup hopped onstage in the middle of a scene before a packed house! (Watch her tell the story of Chaplin, the ambitious pup with Broadways dreams.)
7. Selena Gomez
What single dog mom hasn’t made her fair share of dating blunders? (ahem, we’re looking at you, Justin Bieber.)
Thankfully, this down to earth pup ruvr has a good head on her shoulders when it comes to her fur babies. The Gomez Five is a motley crew of rescue pups from all walks of life – rescued from shelters, parking lots, one pup was even a stray she rescued while filming in Puerto Rico.
6. Ellen Degeneres
What self-respecting dog mom would dream
of getting married without her fur kids by her side? Ellen and Portia’s baby Wolf looks dashing in white, while regal Mabel is content to sit on the sidelines.
5. Julianne Hough
Ever dressed yourself and your pup in matching Halloween costumes? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Celebrity dog mom Julianne Hough and boyfriend Ryan Seacrest couldn’t resist getting Julianne’s beloved pups Lexi and Harley in on the Bonnie and Clyde act.
4. Chelsea Handler
Comedian Chelsea Handler’s dog Chunk has his own Twitter account
. Enough said. Chelsea also teamed up with none other than Snoop Dogg to invest in dog food company Dog For Dog
, whose business model saves lives by donating a bag of food to a shelter for every bag purchased.
3. Natalie Portman
Natalie may have added a husband and a human baby to the family, but the apple of her eye is still her Yorkie, Whiz. The pup travels on planes and even attends awards shows with his famous actress mom. It looks like acting runs in the family – Whiz made his comedic debut alongside Zack Galifianakis on Between Two Ferns
2. Katherine Heigl
After purchasing her first 3 dogs from breeders, Katherine became aware of the pet overpopulation problem and since then has added 4 more rescue pups to her family. She credits her mom with teaching her to love animals, and she hopes to do the same for her own children, saying “I love it so much that she [daughter Naleigh] will always have this source of comfort in her life if she’s an animal person.” Way to raise future generations of crazy dog moms, Katherine! (BTW she gets bonus points for starting her own animal rescue foundation
and starring in this hilarious PSA
promoting spay and neutering.)
1. Amanda Seyfried
Ever wonder if you’ve reached crazy dog mom status? As they say, the proof is in the
Instagram feed. And in the case of Amanda Seyfried, the answer is a resouding Y.E.S.! We first got a glimpse of her awkward but lovable codependent relationship with her Australian Shepherd Finn during this David Letterman appearance
. Now, thanks to the joys of social media, Amanda, like any doting dog mom, floods our feeds with hilarious photos of the famous pup
– we can’t get enough of these two! It takes a real, next level dog lady to recreate our favorite video meme
– not to mention share the spotlight at an ELLE cover shoot
with your furry better-half. Amanda is, hands down, our #1 celebrity dog mom!
Tell us what you think! What amazing pup ruving celebs did we leave out? We know there are so many more out there and we couldn’t share them all!
