If you’re like me, your mood can be affected by your environment. A messy house means an unhappy Jillian. The same concept applies to pets. Yep, that’s right. Your pooch might be a little down because you haven’t cleaned for a week, or you don’t let him have a special space in your home.
According to the feng shui masters, here are some essential tips for making your home happy for animals and humans alike:
Do
Give your pet an area that is exclusively for them. Kind of like a puppy VIP area. Dogs are naturally very territorial creatures, so having a space that’s just for the pups– whether it be a spot in the backyard or a pen in the living room– is essential for hound happiness.
Put your pee pad in a good space. Namely, somewhere that is away from the kitchen and near two walls. That way, your pup will feel protected and your guests won’t be grossed out. It’s a win-win!
Put up pictures of your pets. Not only will they make you feel happy whenever you look at them, but your pet will feel at home, as well. This is especially helpful for new animals.
Don’t
Neglect your pet. Just like people, animals need some TLC. They’ll become agitated if they’re not fed, bathed, and groomed regularly.
Let your animals run free. As tempting as it is to run a house without rules, an untrained dog will jump on visitors and beg for scraps. You’ll be grateful that you took the time to train in the long run.
Let your furry friends sleep on the bed. Needless to say, this is a mood killer for romantic partners. You’ll create tension in your relationship if you let your pet into an area that’s meant to be only for people.
