Grammy award-winner Joss Stone posted a message to her Facebook page postponing two of her shows in the Carribean part of her tour (Barbados and also Trinidad and Tobago), shocking the internet and touching animal lovers worldwide. Stone’s reason? She chose to tend to her ailing dog before continuing her world tour after her beloved Rottweiler, Missy, was rushed to the vet on April 15th.
When news of Missy’s internal bleeding, and the fact she may only have a few hours to live, reached Joss she immediately took action to be with her best friend. She stated in her post:
Missy is the closest thing I have to a child. I know to some that may sound ridiculous, but for me it is everything. I will come back I promise, but right now Missy comes first.
Luckily, Missy survived the night and vets are looking into what the initial cause was for the bleeding. Stone is hopeful that she will return to her tour in time for her performance in Venezuela.
She hopes her fans can understand the last minute change and asks her fans:
Please say a prayer even if you don’t believe in God, just put out some good energy for her.
We wish Missy a speedy recovery and will keep you posted with any updates on her status.
