These 13 Dog-Friendly Companies Are Also Proud Supporters Of LGBTQ Rights

In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, we’re rounding up a collection of companies that support equality among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals, and offer a little something extra to the dogs in their lives. Now that’s something to smile about!

***Please be aware that for those stores allowing pup parents to bring their dogs inside, the decision is ultimately left up to each manager, so call ahead and ask about their dog-friendly policy before bringing them on a shopping spree!***

Without further ado, here are the contenders:

1. Apple

cocountmylove

The real question here is what does Apple NOT allow in their stores? You can shop for your next phone, laptop, or tablet, and let your pup decide what color case you should buy. (For the little pups, make sure you pick them up when foot-traffic gets heavy!) In addition, Apple is a strong supporter of marriage equality and civil rights!

2. Starbucks

According to Starbucks, “equality is a core value of the company,” and they’ve offered benefits for domestic partners for over 20 years. They put their humans first, and their pups too! In case you haven’t explored the secret menu, be sure to have your dog sample the Puppuccino — their adorable whipped cream mustaches will make great Instagram shots. Please note, however, that some dogs get belly aches from dairy products, so proceed with caution!

3. Google

google

The Google merchandise shop offers a selection of dog and pet products, including toys, food scoops, place mats, and collars to match your dog’s style. And of course, Google is 100% supportive of universal equal rights.

4. Ikea

ikea

Famously supportive of LGBTQ audiences, these guys were one of the first companies to advertise directly to gay couples, and are openly welcoming of families of all kinds! In addition, some stores may feature puppy “parking spots” outside where shopping customers can drop off their fuzzballs and then grab-n-go when they’re done.

5. Barnes & Noble

haaaazellll

Pups are welcome to browse their favorite novels, whether they be dog biscuit cookbooks or “The Art of Fetch,” and B&N is abso-puppin-lutely 100% LGBTQ-friendly.

7. Macy’s

jax_and_cam

Macy’s doesn’t just allow dogs in their stores, they support animal shelters and rescues by allowing them space to advertise and raise funds. Their pro-gay marriage advertising and participation in gay pride month does the talking for them, and we totally love ’em for it!

8. Old Navy

These guys and gals let your pups walk (or ride) while you shop, too, and are fully supportive of marriage equality and equal rights.

9. American Apparel

abovesealevel

Check out American Apparel’s “Legalize Gay” page on their website! They shout their support to the rooftops, and we think our dogs would howl it, too. They even sell clothes for pups!

10. Ford

In addition to being fully LGBTQ-friendly, Ford designs its vehicles with dogs in mind — you might find features such as floor compartments for dog food and supplies, a lower bumper height, and roomy spaces able to accommodate large dog crates.

11. Ben & Jerry’s

dominiquechacha

The ice cream guys believe that “social justice can and should be something that every human being is entitled to,” and we’ll wag our tails to that. And if you’re looking for a career change, their Vermont headquarters is super dog-friendly!

12. Home Depot

We think these guys are pretty awesome — they’re openly supportive of the modern family, and have even sponsored and participated in gay pride parades and other events. Plus, wait for it… you can shop with your dog.

13. Subaru

oakleypoke

You may have met the Barkleys, a wholesome dog family featured in many of Subaru’s advertising. They approve of these cars’ dog-friendly design (as do OUR dogs!), and Subaru is a pro-LGBTQ company with tons of support.
