Hoomanity, you came through.

Retired military dog Kay was in dire need of $6,000 worth of surgery in order to remove a tumor from his heart. His old military handler-turned-pup parent Brandon Donahue needed some help raising the money, so he and his wife Brandi went online. After posting about Kay on GoFundMe.com with the title “Help retired MWD Kay”, they were able to raise over $8,000 by the end of this week.

Kay, who was rescued as a puppy from a Texas animal shelter, is a super sniffer. He helped to ferret out IEDs and cleared paths for soldiers. He served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it’s estimated he’s saved oh, a FEW THOUSAND lives.
