Welcome to BarkBites! Each week we’ll show you how to whip up a quick, easy, and delicious treat for your pooch. What are you waiting for?! Let’s get cookin’!

This week we’re making Banana Oatmeal Grrranola Bars which are low in calories but high in potassium, fiber, manganese, and vitamins B6 and C. Nutritional little nuggets of deliciousness both you and your dog will enjoy!

Whachu’ Need:

– 3 Cups Old-Fashioned Oats
– 3 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
– 1/4 Tbsp. Cinnamon
– 1 Tbsp. Honey
– 1 Ripe Banana
– Water As Needed

Whachu’ Gonna Do:

Pulse your oats in a blender until you have a fine powder (Congratulations! You just made oat flour!)

Peel and mash one banana with a fork before adding in the oat flour, coconut oil, honey, and cinnamon. Stir to combine well.

Add water as necessary and mix to form a stiff dough, add flour as necessary if the dough is too tacky.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out your dough until it’s roughly half and inch thick. Use a pizza slicer to cut your dough into rectangles (or whatever shape you like!)

Transfer bars to a cooking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes at 350° .

Allow bars to cool fully before giving to your dog, but feel free to enjoy a few yourself while they are still nice and warm.
