People Whose Dogs ARE Their Work

People Whose Dogs ARE Their Work

Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day, a holiday I’m sure many dog-ruvin’ humans look forward to every year (Who likes leaving your pup at home while you go to your day job?! Nobody, of course). But for some people, this day is just like any other day. That’s right, these lucky humans get to work with their dogs every single day because, well, their pups ARE their work! Yes, Kokoro and I are very jealous.

1. Shinjiro Ono & Maru

Maru is a seven-year-old Shiba Inu living in Japan and has over 800,000 followers on Instagram. Maru is photographed by his hooman, Shinjiro, in his everyday life and has his own photo book and calendar. From smiling (cheesily) in a field of flowers to showing off his butt fluff all over Tokyo, Maru’s role as a model gives his human the fantastically fun job of capturing and sharing his beauty. They have also released the Marundar App for iPhone and Android, which intersperses the weather forecast with random photographs of this adorable pup.

2. Mensweardog & Humans

Menswear Dog, “Bodhi,” is a 4-year-old Shiba Inu living in New York City “with a penchant for all things style.” His humans, David Fung and Yena Kim, photograph him in dashingly handsome menswear outfits that put even some human outfits to shame. They’ve released a calendar and even have a book deal that will highlight some of Bodhi’s most fashionable moments.

3. Susie Brooks & Corgis

Susie and her two adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Corgnelius and Stumphrey, have been working on a book filled with adorable photographs of the brofurs. The Life of Corgnelius and Stumphrey is the bipawgraphy of Corgnelius, a dog with a blog, who learns to love adventuring with his younger sibling, Stumphrey. Find adorable photos of the fashion-forward pups romping around Los Angeles in their book, to be released this fall!

4. Andrew Knapp & Momo

Andrew and Momo are a beloved duo who travel the states in their signature yellow Volkswagon, making stops occasionally and always taking the most stunning photographs. They’ve released a book called Find Momo; it’s filled with stunning landscapes and places from all over the country, each with a hidden Momo (not) in sight. Andrew photographs and designs but always has Momo at his side, wherever his job takes him.

5. Theron Humphrey & Maddie

Theron and his adorably sweet coonhound, Maddie, took a tour across all 50 states to meet their fans and followers and share Maddie’s awesome talent – being on things! They also published a hilarious book called Maddie On Things, a “Super serious project about dogs and physics.”

As I’m sure we are all very envious that these doggies and their humans get to work together every day, let’s give our pups a few extra belly rubs and hugs every time we come home to their wagging tails and slobbery smiles after work. For today, enjoy the special treat for those of you who are able to bring your pooch with you to your office!
