The stage for Puppy Box X is set– treats are packed, the field is watered (by pups and hoses) and the day is almost upon us. With only 2 weeks to go, all we need now is a winner.
Given the diverse puppy roster this year, there’s certainly no shortage of star power taking the field on February 2nd, but looking back at the season, there are some pups that stand out on their hind-legs from the rest of the pack. These pups have made a name for themselves with their dynamic play styles, speed, dexterity and adorably cute puppy dog demeanors.
True athletes.
We sat down with five-time Puppy Bowl MVP (Most Valuable Pup) Scout for a breakdown of the pups to watch this year as we build the hype for what is sure to be the most exciting, and adorable, puppy bowl yet.

Delachaise
Breed: Pitbull Mix
Age: 14 weeks
Delachaise is coming off one of the most impressive seasons in PFL (Puppy Football League) history. After topping a long-held single season fetching record as quarterbark of his pack, this pup is clearly the best offensive player in the game right now, capable of turning the game in his favor at any moment. Definitely a pup on the rise.
Aurora
Breed: Dalmatian
Age: 12 weeks
Aurora is an incredibly fast pup who can be a serious threat anytime he gets the tennis ball in her paws. When the clocks ticking down, you want to be sure Aurora’s in the game, given her ability to turn big plays around with the ease of a puppy half her age.
Laney
Breed: Brittany Spaniel Mix
Age: 13 weeks
Laney is one of the most dynamic return pups in the league right now. Starting out as a wide retriever, Laney found his niche late in the 2013 season on special teams, racking up huge gains for his pack on every play. He’s been compared to some of the all-time greatest pups in recent months, but it remains to be seen how he tricks under pressure.
Brody
Breed: American Eskimo Dog
Age: 15 weeks
Weighing in at 15 pounds, Brody has the size to be a key player in the Puppy Bowl. He started the season on the practice squad but has come in to his own as a tail-end and has demolished offensives like a new ham bone– this is his moment to shine, but whether he seizes the opportunity is up in the air.
Parker
Breed: Labrador Retriever/Husky Mix
Age: 13 weeks
Parker is one of the most dynamic quarterbarks in the game right now– he’s both quick on his paws and impossible to take down if he moves out of the pocket. Coming in at 9 pounds, Parker may not be the biggest pup on the field, but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in agility and grace.
