After growing up with a Norwegian Elkhound I had a few thoughts about who my own first dog would be: curly tail, well-mannered, lazy wolf-like dog. And then I got my first batch of foster puppies and fell in love with the rope tailed, super high energy mousiest one – Stella. 30+ fosters later, Stella and her foster pack have taught me all kinds of dog lessons and life lessons. While working at BARK I’ve hosted events for thousands of dogs and their parents and am proud to say I’ve even attended a Goldendoodle’s Bark Mitzvah.

Stella is a high-energy escape artist – as a puppy there was nothing I could do to tire her out and we tried every harness that exists in pursuit of one she couldn’t wiggle her way out of or chew through in a second (don’t worry, we found it)! As a master of destruction and squeaker seeker she tore up all of the toys and we found the ideal tough stuff to keep her busy. Together we’ve become experts at hiking and traveling together big dog style and running a multi-dog house with a rotating cast of fosters (mostly puppies).
