It’s 95 degrees and sunny, with a 100% chance of playhacks. Clear some room in the freezer and grab a few of your pup’s favorite water-proof toys. Let’s get started!

Introducing Super Chewer Play Hacks:

A series where we show you how to take your toys to a whole other level and challenge your dog in new, exciting ways. You can sign up here to get two multi-functional toys, two bags of healthy treats, and two meaty chews delivered to your door each month. Learn how to make your dog’s toys more engaging with our play hacks below!

Please note that every dog is different and that you know your dog better than we do! The great thing about play hacks is that you can tailor each hack to what your dog needs. If a play hack calls for peanut butter but your dog isn’t a fan, try canned pumpkin (not pie-filling) or another favorite instead! Also, if a play hack recipe calls for an ingredient that your pup hasn’t had before (such as plain greek yogurt), try letting them taste just a little bit first before giving them a toy that’s filled with it! The last thing we want is an upset tummy. Additionally, to reduce caloric intake, you can let your pup enjoy their playhack for just a short amount of time and refreeze for later!

Always remember – it takes two to chew! Be sure to supervise your dog while they’re engaging with any toy or play hack!

1. Yogurt + Apple

For this play hack, we used the Tuffles Potato Chip toy from our June box!

How-to:

  • In a freezer-safe cup, mix together plain greek yogurt with chopped apple (skinless and seedless), and crumbs from your dog’s favorite treat bag!
  • Put the toy in halfway through.
  • Freeze overnight
  • Remove the bowl (or keep it together – totally your preference!)
  • Enjoy!

2. Peanut Butter + Yogurt + Raspberries + Chews

For this play hack, we used the Corn In The USA toy from our June box!

How-to:

  • In a bowl, mix together peanut butter, plain greek yogurt, and a couple chopped up raspberries
  • Flip the corn on its bottom and place a biscuit-like treat at the bottom
  • Drizzle in your mixture
  • Flip the corn back on its side and stick a chew through
  • Freeze overnight and enjoy!

*Tip: For fewer calories, let your pup enjoy just a little bit at a time and re-freeze for later!

3. Broth + Treats

For this play hack, we used the Tomato Toppler toy from our June box!

How-to:

  • In a freezable cup, pour 2 parts water and 1 part low-sodium chicken broth
  • Wedge treats inside the tomato and submerge it in the cup
  • Freeze overnight and enjoy!

Which play hack do you think your dog would like the best?
