What do you get when you take one RV, two rescue dogs, and the open road? Besides heaven?
You get 2 Traveling Dog’s Road Trip for Good, an Adventure of a Lifetime!
Rachael and Nathan Johnson of the wildly popular blog, 2 Traveling Dogs, are back on the road! This time, they’re fully equipped with an RV, a full year to explore all 48 contiguous states, and a mission to raise awareness for all their favorite rescues along the way.
Each week, Peanut Butter Brickle and Digby Pancake will be paw-picking their top “Marked Territories” with the greatest landmarks, restaurants, and activities for dogs in each state. Nearest and dearest to their hearts, both dogs and their humans, will also highlight one rescue organization, shelter or other rescue operation within each state.
We first fell in love with the Johnsons back in 2011, when they launched 2 Traveling Dogs, as a recreational project to chronicle their move across the country. This quickly developed into a platform for good, blossoming into a forum to shed light on adoptable dogs, and later, an entirely new way of life for the Rachael and Nathan, who quit their jobs to become full time chefs for their pups. They launched Your Dog’s Diner in 2012, emphasizing organic, healthy (and gourmet!) dog cuisine along with easy-to-make recipes to keep dogs’ tails wagging.
With a full-year to explore and make the best of every state, the Johnsons are excitedly awaiting all suggestions for every state’s dog-friendly must-sees and must-dos! So, if you have a favorite taco joint, a prize-winning bush for dogs to mark, or just want to have a reason to see your celebrity crushes in the flesh, you should let them know ASAPee!
Be sure to check their schedule to see when they’ll be in your neighborhood so you can give Brickle and Digby a bellyrub.
Stay tuned for the newest installments of Road Trip for Good.
First stop…. Florida!
