A Typical Day in the Life of a NYC Instagram Dog

A Typical Day in the Life of a NYC Instagram Dog

Living in the city that never sleeps is exciting enough, but what about when you’re a pair of instagram dogs with a busy schedule? Here is a typical day in the life of my dogs, Charlie and Sawyer, residing on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and always looking for their next adventure. Hey, it’s a ruff life, but somebody has to do it.

7:00am – Wake Up Call
Our humans are early risers and usually wake up around 7am to start their day. If we had our way, we would close the blinds and snooze until at least 9am…

7:30am – Time For The Park
Did you know: Central Park allows dogs to roam off leash EVERY DAY from 6-9am? That’s right. It’s a dog’s dream. While our humans can’t bring us for an off-leash romp every morning, you can find us here on most days when the weather is nice enough. There are plenty of hills, fields and paths for dogs to explore, and trust us, you’ll run into hundreds of dogs morning after morning.

Rules to Follow: Central Park has certain fields and areas where dogs must remain leashed, so be sure to check the restrictions here before you go.

8:30am – Breakfast!
We start each day with a fresh bowl of PetPlate – a homemade, human quality dog food prepared right in NYC by actual chefs! PetPlate delivers meals right to our door several times per week. We learned about their company at Barksgiving this year!

9:00am – Werk Werk Werk Werk Werk
Our humans do this thing called “work”. It sounds terribly boring. Sometimes we go with them, and sometimes they work from home. Either way, we usually end up napping around this time. Sometimes they ask us for help with important documents and projects.

12:00pm – Lunch Break!
While napping is very important, stopping to have lunch is a much bigger priority. While some days we order in Seamless, we prefer to venture to places offering lunch specials and outdoor seating so everyone is happy. Now that the “Dining with Dogs” Bill has been passed in NYC, it makes it easier to find restaurants that let us sit with our parents!

1:30pm – Lights, Camera, Action!
It’s very common for us to have a few photoshoots during the week, so it’s only natural that we make ourselves pretty and pose for the occasion. New York offers the perfect backdrop to any photoshoot. You might see us on the streets, in the park or in a store, but no matter where we go, we get the job done.

3:00pm – Puppuccino Please!
Any busy body knows that a caffeine boost is more than necessary in the afternoon. At least that’s what the humans say. Dragging us around town can be exhausting, so we can’t blame them for stopping at a cafe once or twice throughout the day. Many coffeeshop locations throughout Manhattan offer outdoor seating in case you decide to stay and enjoy your drink, or even work from there (free wifi!). See if your local coffee shop offers such amenities like dog treats (Le Pain Quotidien) or puppuccinos (Starbucks).

6:00pm – Time To Pawty
It’s very common for a party to occur at some point during the week at the Bark & Co HQ downtown. It could be another instadog’s birthday, a cooking class or a fun holiday celebration that gives us an excuse to let loose with our friends, eat delicious treats and have fun! BarkLive does an amazing job of organizing and hosting these events. We hope to see you at one of them!

8:00pm – The After Pawty
After a fun party at the Bark & Co. HQ, some of of doods (and humans) usually want more time together, so we take a walk, grab a drink or do a mini-photoshoot while we’re all together. Sunset is an ideal time for the pawfect shot.

11:00pm – Good Night Dood
Now that you’ve seen a typical day in the life of a NYC Instagram Dog, you can understand why we’re so tired. ZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzzzz
