Portland International Airport is opening up an indoor potty for pooches by August, so your travel companion won’t have to hold it after long flights. It’s all part of a larger federal law saying all airports that serve more than 10,000 passengers a year must have a relief area for pets.
The law is expected to affect 387 airports in the United States. The driving force behind this move is to make life easier for service dogs, who, despite their extraordinary abilities and expert training, are still regular dogs and have to pee after long flights. Who doesn’t, right?
But pretty soon, we’ll be seeing puppy potties pop up in way more places. And if you’ve already been screened through security, you don’t have to go through again for your pup to pee.
