France’s New Law is Pupular with Dog Ruvers

The new law in France protecting pets as “sentient living beings” is a huge paw forward for animal rights! Thanks to the signatures of 678,000 animal ruvers, the French Pawliment decided to examine the status of pets, which were previously considered to be “movable goods” like furniture.
The change will make it easier to prosecute cases of animal cruelty, determine custody if pup parents separate, and even make it possible to leave an inheritance to your beloved pet.
The law still needs to be approved by the Senate, but we’ve got our paws crossed that they share the sentiments of France’s Former education minister Luc Ferry:
