From tea parties to wiener dog races, these are the best dog related events from all over Canada.

1. One of a Kind Show, Toronto: MARCH 23-27, 2016

While this event isn’t exclusively for dog lovers, the One of a Kind Show does feature some of the best dog related items around. With over 450 local artisans you’ll be sure to find the best in doggy fashion and beautiful doggy artwork.

2. Spring Canadian Pet Expo, Toronto: MARCH 25-27, 2016

One of the biggest and best dog events is the Spring Canadian Pet Expo.
It is officially Canada’s largest consumer pet show with over 250 exhibitors spread out over 4 massive halls totalling over 200,000 square feet.
There’s also a flyball competition and interactive events for your dog. Don’t forget to fill out the waiver ahead of time!

3. Calgary Pet Expo: APRIL 23 & 24, 2016

The Calgary Pet Expo is a “2-day consumer tradeshow” that is open to the public (sorry, no dogs allowed at this event). At the show you will find “hundreds of pets, pet products, service providers, entertainers, clubs and organizations that cater to pets.” The show also features dog races and trick shows!

4. Woofstock, Toronto: MAY 28 & 29, 2016


Woofstock is the cream of the crop when it comes to dog events! It draws tens of thousands of dogs from across the country and the U.S. It is, without question, the largest outdoor festival for dogs in all of North America.
This festival features everything including celebrity dogs, a fashion show, trick shows, off leash play areas, toys, treats, lounges, you name it, it has it! If there’s one doggy event that you hit up all year, this should be the one.
And if that isn’t enough, in September they host a high tea for the classiest of classy pups in a ballroom at the historic Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

5. The Newfoundland Labrador Pet Expo: JUNE 11 & 12, 2016

6. Ottawa Dog Festival: JUNE 11 & 12, 2016

The Ottawa Dog Festival is where you’re gonna wanna be if your dog is ready to compete! On site there will be plenty of doggy games for both amateur and professional pups. There will also be a VIPooch tent, a beer garden (for the humans of course), gourmet food trucks and live music. The nation’s capital really knows how to throw a doggy party!

7. Wienerfest Home County Festival, Embro: JUNE 25, 2016


Who doesn’t love wiener dog races? Wienerfest Home County Festival in Embro, Ontario is Canada’s largest breed-specific event.
Wiener dogs compete in races, costume contests and they even bob for hot dogs! Not only that, all proceeds go to Tiny Paws Dog Rescue!

8. PAWS in the PARK, Toronto: AUGUST, 2016

PAWS in the PARK is a charity event that is organized by the Toronto Humane Society every year and it’s one fundraiser that you can’t miss. Along with raising hundreds of thousands of dollars every year, this event includes a walk along Toronto’s beautiful waterfront, lots of exhibitors, food trucks and of course, doggy trick shows.

9. Ottawa Pet Expo: NOVEMBER 12 & 13, 2016

The Ottawa Pet Expo is the place to be if you’re looking for a weekend packed full of exciting events for you and your pooch.
There’s a family photo booth, a dock diving competition, flyball races, training sessions and even a doggy daycare if you want to bring your pup but would like some free time to shop for goodies; which you’ll want to do because they have a lot of exhibitors with a wide range of products to choose from.

10. Toronto Christmas Pet Show: NOVEMBER, 2016

The Toronto Christmas Pet Show is the best holiday themed pet show around! While a 2016 date hasn’t been set yet, the event usually takes place in November and the 2015 event was held at Downsview Park in Toronto.
No visit to the Toronto Christmas Pet Show is complete unless your pup has their photo taken with Santa!
